Red Arrow Park's Slice of Ice Opens December 17

Well, it's a little later than usual this year, but Slice of Ice in Red Arrow Park is scheduled to open on Thursday, December 17. The ice skating rink will be open 11 a.m. - 8 p.m. Mondays-Thursdays, 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. Sundays through February (March if weather allows). Ice skates may be rented for $6 per pair, or skaters with their own skates can skate for free. Red Arrow Park is located at 920 N. Water St.

Christmas Comes to Candy Cane Lane

Candy Cane Lane, an area of several city blocks just north of Oklahoma Avenue in West Allis, is once again lit for the holidays. Drive or stroll through the neighborhood from 6-10 p.m. weekdays and from 5-10 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays through December 28. There is no charge to visit Candy Cane Lane, but those that wish to can give a donation to the MACC Fund.

Wisconsin No Call List Deadline is December 1

Want to avoid unsolicited telemarketing phone calls? Wisconsin residents have until Monday, December 1, 2009 to add their number(s) to the current No Call List that will go into effect on January 1. Those who sign up after December 1 will be added to the next list, which will take effect April 1, 2010.

There are two easy ways to be added to the No Call List:
