Mother's Day in Milwaukee

Sunday May 4, 2008

In case you've forgotten, Mother's Day is Sunday, May 11. Make those brunch reservations now if you haven't already.

Not big on dining out? Here are a few other ideas on what to do with Mom on her special day:

  • Take her golfing: Milwaukee has many golf courses with a wide range of prices and skill levels.
  • Get her some flowers, or help her with her landscaping: Locker's Florist is a great place to buy an arrangement, and Minor's Garden Center is an awesome place to find bedding plants, trees and shrubs.
  • Take her on a Mother's Day Bike Ride: Join the Pedal Pusher Society as they cruise the beach in celebration of moms of all stripes. Riders leave from the lakefront Alterra at 2 p.m.
  • Go to the zoo or the public museum: Both the Milwaukee County Zoo and the Milwaukee Public Museum are offering free admission for mothers on Mother's Day.
  • Check out a Brewers game: In honor of Mother's Day, a few players will be using pink bats and a pink ribbon will be displayed in the outfield in recognition of the Brewer's partnership with the Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization.
