Milwaukee Bass Wars
Operation Bass Busters is ready to unleash a torrent of fines on owners of vehicles with ridiculously loud stereo systems, says a statement from Alderman Bob Donovan's office. Titled "Aldermen & Cops Declare War on Street Noise," the release states that a new city ordinance would allow complainants to simply give the license plate of an offending vehicle, along with their contact information, the date and the time of the noise incident. After one warning, the owners of offending vehicles would be slapped with a $100 fine for each additional complaint.
The Common Council's Public Safety Committee unanimously endorsed this ordinance, meaning passage is almost guaranteed when it goes to the full Common Council later this month. The ordinance would take effect June 16.
And all this time I thought no one heard my plea for help against these cursed hooptys -- alas, "the man" was listening all along.
