March in Milwaukee marks the beginning of spring. Say hello to warmer weather by getting out of the house and having some fun. Where else but Milwaukee can you jump in a frigid Lake Michigan one weekend, and then slick back your pompadour and test the fire in some locally produced chilis the next?

- St. Patrick's Day Parade
When: Saturday, March 9
What: An annual tradition in downtown Milwaukee, and one of the biggest parades of the year.
Where: Parade starts at 3rd and Wisconsin, then proceeds east to Plankinton, north on Plankinton to Kilbourn, west on Kilbourn to Old World Third Street, north on Old World Third Street to Juneau, east on Juneau to Water Street, south on Water Street.

What: Talk to zoologists and see sights not available to the general public.
