Oakland Gyros has long been a staple in Milwaukee, especially with the late-night college crowd. The original Oakland Gyros' location on the corner of Locust and Oakland Streets is of easy access to many students boarding near UW-Milwaukee, and the fact that it sits adjacent to Axl's, a popular bar, certainly doesn't hurt business. There is now a second location near the airport on Layton Avenue.
