It's a problem you're bound to face now and again: it's 3 a.m. and you're starving. What to do? Who to call? The list will give you the lowdown on finding late-night food in Milwaukee.
Ma Fischer's
A popular East Side establishment located on Farwell Avenue, it is not unusual to see Ma Fischer's packed to capacity at 1 a.m. This restaurant, too, is conveniently located next to a popular night spot, Landmark Lanes.
Pizza Shuttle
Pizza Shuttle, located on Farwell Avenue on Milwaukee's East Side, is open until 3 a.m. weeknights, and 4 a.m. on weekends. While Pizza Shuttle does a huge delivery business, this restaurant is another interesting people watching joint because if it's proximity to Brady Street nightlife and location in the midst of a popular student housing district.Oakland Gyros
Oakland Gyros has long been a staple in Milwaukee, especially with the late-night college crowd. The original Oakland Gyros' location on the corner of Locust and Oakland Streets is of easy access to many students boarding near UW-Milwaukee, and the fact that it sits adjacent to Axl's, a popular bar, certainly doesn't hurt business. Oakland Gyros does not deliver, but the 2 a.m. crowd at this place makes for interesting people watching, and the food is worth the wait.
Patty Burger
The newest addition to the late-night scene, Patty Burger, located on Farwell Avenue, has a sister store located in downtown Chicago. While Patty Burger is too new to have reached landmark status, she has indeed already established herself in the heart's of East Siders because of two things -- a saucy, red-headed pin-up girl logo that adorns everything, and delivery service until 3 a.m.Zayna's Pizza
Zayna's is a late-night staple for those times you don't want to leave the house. Housed in a small building near the west end of Brady Street, Zayna's, along with rival Pizza Shuttle, have definitely cornered a large part of Milwaukee's delivery market -- many denizens of the East Side have probably eaten there at least once a week, for a year straight, without ever setting foot inside the restaurant.
