Since its inception in 1851 (when admission cost 10 cents), the Wisconsin State Fair has seen many homes and weathered many entertainment trends. Despite this, the Fair experience has always seemed to have four main elements: animals, food, games and rides, and "weird" stuff.
To many, the Wisconsin State Fair is the culmination of months of hard work growing a spectacular plant, or raising and training a young animal. To others, it's eating fried cheese and risking death on a carnival ride. To yet others, it's watching music and shopping at the International Marketplace, where you can find any manner of things you never knew you needed.
