Getting to the Wisconsin State Fair

Getting to the Wisconsin State Fair is no easy feat -- expect some congestion. If you drive, you have two options: park on the fair grounds, or park near the fair grounds, as most homes and businesses in the area let you park in their lots or on their lawns for a fee. There are also many shuttle options, as well as riding the city bus.

Parking on the State Fair Grounds:

Parking is $10 per vehicle / motorcycle

Handicapped Parking is also $10 per vehicle.
Designated parking areas for the handicapped can be found at:

  • Gate 1 at 79th Street and Greenfield Avenue
  • Gate 7 on the north end of the Fair Park off Kearney Street
  • Gate 3 on 84th Street near the State Fair Transit Center. You will be directed to special parking areas.

Shuttles:

Waukesha County Area Shuttle
Pick-up the shuttle at the Hwy 83/I-94, Hwy G/I-94 and Barker Road/I-94 Park-N-Rides. Passengers will be dropped off and picked up at the U.S. Cellular Main Gate. Shuttle will run every 30 minutes starting at 7:25am with the last departure 30 minutes after the Fair closes.

Washington County Area State Fair Shuttle
Riteway will provide daily, air-conditioned, round-trip service to the 2011 Wisconsin State Fair. Motor coach picks up at the Washington County Fair Park, County Road PV, West Bend; Kettle Moraine Bowl, Hwy 60, Slinger; and Germantown Center: Life Church Parking Lot at Mequon Road and Squire Drive. Pick up begins at the Washington County Fair Park beginning at 7 a.m., and from 7:30 a.m. at Slinger and Germantown stops.
Cost: $12, $10 seniors (60+) and people with disabilities, $5 children (7-11), Free for children under 7

Milwaukee County Shuttles
The shuttle from Watertown Plank Road Park & Ride Lot at HWY 45 operates to the State Fair Transit Center near Gate 4 every day of the Fair. Shuttles operate every 15 minutes from 7:30am until one half-hour after Fair closure.
Cost: $3, $1.50 children (6-11), seniors and people with disabilities.

County Transit Service:

$6 Freeway Flyer Service
Park free at any of the following 6 local Park-and-Ride Lots and hop on a Freeway Flyer to State Fair. These lots are located: Brown Deer Road west of I-43; College Avenue east of I-94; Green Bay Road just north of Brown Deer Road; Edgerton & S. 72nd at the Southridge parking lot; I-43 east of South 108th Street; Watertown Plank west of U.S. 45. Buses drop off and pick up at the State Fair Transit Center near Gate 4.
Cost: $6 for adults, $3 for children (under 12), senior citizens and people with disabilities with proper I.D. Fare is round-trip. Exact fare required.
When: Most shuttles will run every half hour from Freeway Flyer lots and State Fair park from 7:30 a.m. to one half-hour after Fair closure. The Green Bay Road and Brown Deer Road shuttles will run every hour, picking up at 20 minutes past, and 30 minutes past the hour, respectively.
