Milwaukee Fall Festivals & Events 2012
Autumn officially starts on September 22, 2012, though we can start celebrating the season as soon as the kids go back to school. Say "so long" to summer and "hello" to the wonders of autumn in Wisconsin. Pick some pumpkins, sip some apple cider, and stroll the streets of some of our area's most welcoming neighborhoods during these great fall festivals and events.
- Delafield Fall Art Walk
What: Artists set up shop on the streets of downtown Delafield, as well as live musicians and performers.
When: begins 5 p.m. Friday, September 7, and 11 a.m. Saturday, September 8
Where: City of Delafield, downtown district on Highway C (Genesee Street) with event activities on Wells Street, Genesee Street, Milwaukee Street and Dopkins.

- Oktoberfest
What: Wisconsin's oldest Bavarian celebration, featuring music, vendors, beer...and more beer!
When: Fridays and Saturdays throughout September: September 7 & 8; 14 & 15, 21 & 22 and 28 & 29
Where: Heidelberg Park, 700 West Lexington Blvd., Glendale

- Cedarburg Wine and Harvest Festival
What: Main Street festival featuring wine sampling, a pumpkin regatta, farmers market and more.
When: Saturday, September 15 & Sunday, September 16
Where: Downtown Cedarburg

- Tomato Romp
When: Saturday, September 22
What: A North Avenue neighborhood street festival featuring caged tomato fights, and a Bloody Mary competition.
Where: North Avenue from Prospect to Oakland Avenue

- Cheery Cherry Fall Fair
What: Craft fair featuring more than 130 artisans, wine tasting and pumpkin painting.
When: Sunday, September 23
Where: Village Park, Menomonee Falls
How much: $4
- Harvest Fair
What: A fall fair featuring concerts in the amphitheater, pumpkin bowling, hayrides, cookie decorating and more.
When: Friday, September 28 - Sunday, September 30
Where: State Fair Park, 640 S. 84th St., West Allis
How much: Free
- Barktoberfest
What: Dogs are welcome on a leash to this fall celebration. Great food, music and a variety of dog booths, demos and contests.
When: Saturday, September 29
Where: Estabrook Park, 4400 N. Estabrook Dr., next to the beer garden
How much: Free
- Wolf Awareness Day
What: An event devoted to wolves and learning about the important role they play in our world. Includes a howling contest!
When: Saturday, October 13
Where: Milwaukee County Zoo, 10001 W. Blue Mound Rd.
- Hunting Moon Powwow
What: A traditional powwow featuring dancing, Native American arts and crafts and a variety of traditional foods.
When: Friday, October 19 - Sunday, October 21
Where: Potawatomi Bingo Casino, 1721 W. Canal St.
