General Mitchell International is Milwaukee's major airport and the largest in the state of Wisconsin. Mitchell International is a hub for two airlines, AirTran and Frontier, offering nonstop service to 54 cities in the U.S., plus Toronto, Canada and Cancun, Mexico. Mitchell offers one-stop connections to cities throughout the world.
Mitchell International is located on the south side of Milwaukee in the City of Milwaukee. This site has served as an airfield since 1927, when the county airport facilities moved from the northwest corner of Milwaukee County. Of course, the airport has undergone extraordinary changes since that time, and now serves nearly 10 million passengers per year.
Mitchell International is relatively easy to get to. Take the airport spur from I-94, or access the airport entrance on street level just south of the intersection of Grange and Howell Avenues. Want more details? Map it!
