Sometimes you aren't able to make it to the polling place come election day. This is when you must vote by absentee ballot. In Milwaukee, there are two ways to vote this way: by downloading or requesting an absentee ballot form, or completing such a form in person.

Requesting a Form

  • Request an absentee ballot for an upcoming election by completing the absentee ballot application available on the Election Commission's website or by sending a letter with your name, voter registration address, and birth date to:
    Election Commission
200 East Wells St., Room 501
    Milwaukee, WI 53202

Casting an Absentee Ballot In-Person

  • Cast your ballot at an In-Person Absentee Voting station. From October 7 through November 3, the Election Commission will be offering in-person absentee voting at the Zeidler Municipal Building. Registered voters should enter the Municipal Building from the 830 N. Market St., and individuals needing to complete voter registration first should enter at 841 N. Broadway.
