E-Cycling Electronics in Milwaukee

As of September 1, 2010, Wisconsin is under an electronics recycling law that requires businesses that sell electronics to also recycle (E-Cycle) them. The law also bans certain electronics from Wisconsin landfills and incinerators. The law establishes requirements for manufacturers, recyclers and collectors to ensure that recycling is done in an environmentally sound manner.

E-Cycle Businesses will Recycle the Following:

• desktop computers and laptop computers
• desktop printers and printer/fax/copier/scanner combinations
• televisions
• computer monitors with displays of at least 7" in the longest diagonal direction
• computer peripherals, including keyboards, mice, hard drives and other devices
• fax machines
• DVD players, VCRs and other video players

E-Cycle Businesses are not required to (but may also) recycle the following:

• cell phones
• digital cameras
• iPods or other MP3 players
