Wisconsin's Jacki Rickert Medical Marijuana Act (Senate Bill 368 and Assembly Bill 554) was introduced by Wisconsin Representative Mark Pocan and Senator Jon Erpenbach, and has 17 co-sponsors. The measure would allow access to medical marijuana for patients with a number of debilitating diseases and conditions who receive a prescription for marijuana from their doctors.
Conditions that would permit the use of medical marijuana under the proposal include:
- Cancer
- Glaucoma
- AIDS
- Positive HIV test
- Crohn’s disease
- Hepatitis C virus infection
- Alzheimer’s disease
- Amytrophic Lateral Sclerosis
- Nail patella syndrome
- Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome
- Post-traumatic stress disorder
- Any disease or condition that causes wasting away, severe pain, severe nausea, seizures, or severe and persistent muscle spasms
- Any debilitating medical condition or treatment in rules promulgated by the Department of Health Services
