Searching for the right college? The Milwaukee area is home to several great colleges and universities, and all of them have something unique to offer. From the relatively small, specialized science programs of MSOE to the state school experience of UW-Milwaukee, there is an educational experience available here to fit all personalities.

  • University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee
    The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is the second-largest university in the state, and includes 12 different schools and colleges, from a college of nursing to a school of the arts.

    Location: UW-Milwaukee is located on Milwaukee's East Side.
  • Marquette University
    Marquette University, the fourth largest in the state, is a private Catholic Jesuit school, and includes 12 different schools and colleges, from the school of dentistry to law school.

    Location: Marquette is located in downtown Milwaukee.
  • Cardinal Stritch University
    Cardinal Stritch University is a private Catholic school, and includes 4 different colleges, including arts and sciences, evening business and management programs, working adults, education and leadership, and nursing.

    Location: Cardinal Stritch is located in Fox Point on Milwaukee's north shore.
  • Concordia University
    Concordia University is a private Lutheran school with a focus on liberal arts. Featuring many undergraduate majors and graduate disciplines, highlights include religious and business studies, and the new school of pharmacy.

    Location: Concordia is located in Mequon on Milwaukee's north shore.
  • Carroll University
    Carrol University, the oldest in the state, is a private school featuring a wide range of undergraduate disciplines, and graduate degrees in education, software engineering, and entry level coursework in physical therapy.

    Location: Carroll University is located in Waukesha.
  • Alverno College
    Alverno is a private Catholic college for woman. Undergraduate studies are offered within four different schools: business, education, nursing, and arts and sciences, and graduate programs are offered in business, education and nursing.

    Location: Alverno is located on the west side of Milwaukee.
  • Milwaukee School of Engineering
    MSOE is a private college with a strong science focus. Fields of study fall under seven different academic departments, from architectural engineering and building construction to nursing.
