The Bottom Line
Conejito's is cheap and probably not good for you. A great place for lunch, a night of tequila shots or the next-day recovery, Conejito's does NOT qualify as a fancy-date place.

Guide Review - Conejito's Place
Conejito's Place is something of a Milwaukee institution. Granted, a true gourmet may run screaming in horror of the paper plates and greasy enchiladas, but those looking for Mexican basics will find Conejito's a refreshing alternative from its "chic" contemporaries. Also, there are some points of contention among locals as to whether Conejito's is "authentic." I think it is -- after having once eaten cold refried beans for breakfast in a Mexico City bus station, I'm going to bet that cheap Mexican here is the same as cheap Mexican across the border.
