The state of Wisconsin and its near neighbors have a lot to offer, and you can get to any number of destinations with just a few hours of drive time. Head south to savor the big city life of Chicago, or north to the peace and quiet of the lake country.

Listed below are the mileages and estimated driving times to many of the popular destinations close to Milwaukee. Keep in mind that drive times may vary, especially during rush hour traffic or during summer construction season. Mileage is a close approximation using downtown Milwaukee as the starting point.

  • From Milwaukee to Madison, WI
    Distance: 80 miles
    Driving Time: 1 hour 30 minutes
    Wisconsin's capital city is a straight shot west of Milwaukee, and a relatively short drive. Visit the University of Wisconsin - Madison, check out a Badgers game and browse the shops of State Street.

    Head due south and you'll hit Chicago. Enjoy a day Millennium Park, shopping, or checking out one of the city's wonderful museums.
