Milwaukee is located in Wisconsin, a Midwestern state on the western shore of Lake Michigan. With this in mind, it shouldn't come as a surprise that this city can experience significant snowfall in a season. But how much? According to the National Climatic Data Center, taking into account the snowfall for our city between 1940 and 2002, the average amount of snow Milwaukee receives annually is 47.3 inches.
That doesn't mean we can't get more, however. During the winter of 2007-08, Milwaukee snow totals topped out at 96 inches, which brought that season to #2 of Milwaukee's 5 snowiest winters on record.
